12-14 years: Drilkikkers

In the age group 12-14 years you will find kids who are in the last phase of primary school or have just started secondary school. We have devised a program that combines the best of both worlds: still playing nicely, but we also challenge this energetic group enough. We listen carefully to what the children want and adapt to ensure that everyone has a great time.

  • Challenge & fun.

By using new material, the right sailing clothing, calm water and an instructor close by, we keep it safe at all times.

  • Real holiday.

We believe in a lesson form in which fun and creating confidence on the water are paramount.

  • Working towards a diploma.

In addition to sailing, our staff members provide 24/7 guidance to your child, in which personal growth of the student, both socially and on the water, is central.

  • Communication.

We provide daily photo and video updates. We are available 24/7 for questions.

  • Food & Beverage.

Every day we provide freshly prepared and varied meals. We also take into account all diets and allergies at no extra cost.

  • Offline, active and social.

There is plenty to do during our sailing camps. In addition to the sporting aspect, you are socializing a lot and that is a week without the constant presence of screens and games.

Our instructors are there to put on the brakes a little if necessary, for example when going to sleep. We understand that getting enough sleep is important, but we also make sure there is enough time for fun. Every evening we enjoy a cool evening program and we like to end the day festively with a banging disco. Sometimes we skip the disco if we prefer to relax, for example with a cozy campfire. In any case, there is always a planned activity on the program that we will experience together!

It gets absolutely crazy on the water. We have boats in which you can really build up fast speed, and some boats can even capsize! How cool is that? In this age group you switch from the classic youth sailing boats to more mature youth sailing boats with more variety and action. We promise more independence and more excitement on the water. In addition, these boats and the age of the students are also better suited for an exciting trip!

We want this age group to become one big, fun group. We notice that the group of friends becomes more fun because the boys and girls mix better in this phase of life. This ultimately makes it a cheerful, mixed group. Learning together, chilling together, because that makes it extra fun!

A day in the age group 12-14 years.

A day at the sailing school starts with a delicious breakfast with friends, where fresh croissants are ready and bread has just been delivered from the bakery for a hearty packed lunch. After a semi-short night, filled with pleasant conversations with friends, hunger sets in - perhaps it's a good thing that the night watch ensured that everyone finally fell asleep on time.

After breakfast it's time to get on the water with the instructor for a day full of new skills that you will learn. Every day the waters are carefully selected, tailored to the goals of that day, that is the advantage of a sailing camp in Friesland! Sometimes we even take a nice trip to a nearby village. At lunchtime you will see all your friends again at the lunch spot, where the shore team is ready with a delicious sandwich or other chilled lunch snack. In the afternoon we have a few more nice sailing hours and then we race back to the sailing school where a well-deserved 'aftersail snack' awaits you and there is time to shower. The bar is open for an extra drink or something tasty.

Dinner is served indoors or on the sunny terrace. The shore team has once again provided a delicious and healthy meal, because after a hard day of sailing you can really use the energy. After dinner it's time for a block of in-depth theory, but don't worry: it's anything but boring! Our instructors have prepared an interactive workshop. After gathering knowledge, it is time for a fun evening game, such as living cluedo, an extensive quiz or 'who is the craziest'. You challenge your friends and have a lot of fun with the instructors' costumes.

At the end of the evening we transform the location into a banging disco to end the day in a festive way. Or if we prefer to chill out, we light the campfire and spend the day together while roasting marshmallows. Before going to sleep, the room coach will come by, we will discuss details of the day and ensure that a small clean-up round is held. Finally, the telephones are confiscated so that they do not disturb the night's sleep. You can pick them up the next day after sailing.
